The Other Plays

As well as the Off The Wall series of plays, Nigel has written several other plays, details of which can be found by clicking on the appropriate tab. 

The plays Travesti, Scartato, Burning, The Damning of Henry Morgan, and Skin were all sparked by finding intriguing 'holes in history' - questions about particular people and events which are not answered by the existing historical record.  The plays seek to fill these 'holes' with explanations which fit (most of the time!) with the known facts of the events in question.

Rather perversely, one of the great pleasures of writing these plays has been the discovery that, despite my best endeavours, there seemed to be no explanation for a particular happening, and therefore being set free from the researches of real historians to fill in the blanks from my own imagination!  The opposite, I suppose, of finding a jigsaw puzzle with a piece missing ...
